A new pergola at Quinta da Beloura, Sintra
Case study: replacing a failing wooden pergola with a fixed-roof pergola, refitting the original solar panels, with installation in 5 days.

Quick answer
A wooden pergola carrying solar panels was giving way and had been propped up with metal props. Oazis dismantled the old structure, carefully removed the panels, prepared the site and installed a new fixed-roof pergola with a 16 mm polycarbonate roof. Installation took 5 days, and the original solar panels went back on top of the roof.

| Solution | Fixed-roof pergola, 16 mm polycarbonate roof |
| Solar panels | The original panels were refitted |
| Installation | 5 days |
What was the problem?
The wooden pergola by the pool was giving way. To stop it from falling, metal props had been placed under the structure while a solution was found. The pergola carried solar panels that had to be kept.

How was the solution prepared?
After talking with the client and assessing the space, we quoted a fixed-roof pergola with a 16 mm polycarbonate roof. A fixed roof could carry the solar panels and protect the seating area from sun and rain. Once the proposal was accepted, we started making the new structure.
How was the old pergola removed?
Before taking the wood down, we carefully removed the solar panels and stored them to refit later. We then dismantled the old pergola, prepared the site for the new structure and took away all the waste.

How did the installation go?
When the structure arrived on site, we started the installation. The pergola was up in 5 days.

What happened to the solar panels?
The original solar panels went back on top of the new roof. The client kept the energy production they already had and gained a new structure underneath.

What was the result?
The area by the pool has shade and shelter again, with no props in sight and a new structure ready for everyday use.
